Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm

Written by Dave Gannaway
Enthusiasm is the common denominator of the world’s top self motivators and achievers. That is really just another name for self motivation. When you meet someone who is enthusiastic you are aware immediately, that you are in the presence of someone who has a different notch on their gun. Enthusiasm and self motivation is contagious. It has a magnetic quality that draws like to like. It generates greater passion and excitement often observed as charisma.

These qualities alone can propel you into areas denied others. You can become a force to be reckoned with when you add extreme passion to self motivation in your desired sphere of interest and expertise. These qualities can transcend all else, and it can give you the edge. I have employed passionate self motivated individuals over others with far greater academic qualifications simply because of their shear enthusiasm. They were exciting and attracted my attention, and very importantly, they were alive and could think on their feet.

So, what creates these compelling qualities? The answer is they do what they love doing. Someone asked me, “how do you know what is your passion?” The answer was easy. If you love what you do, when you stop to relax, you find yourself doing the same thing! The famous Chinese teacher Confucius said:

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”

However self motivated and enthusiastic an individual may be nothing is going to happen in any area, until you begin to do something. However powerful the engine of your car is, it ain’t goin’ anywhere until you take the brake off, get it out of the garage and out on the highway! The next and biggest step by far is ACTION. IF IT’S TO BE… IT’S UP TO ME!
